The color trends for 2014 are out and there are more variations than I expected to see. The trend we’ve been seeing in home furnishings, fashion to automobiles is towards subtle, soft colors. Not just the whites, ecru and grays these whispery soft tones are in pinks, sepia and lavender. Something that has a little age to it, we’re not talking pastels these are tones steeped in history born of natural dyes, mined metals and organic sea salts.
With influences from Europe and Latin America, there is a nod to tradition and handmade crafts like lace, batik and embroidery. We celebrate the global melting pot that we’ve become while still honoring the individual. We respect the strength of being different and having a quality that will stand on its own by mixing what maybe strange or unusual.
