Painting on the hot summer days

by | Jul 7, 2016 | Uncategorized

Summer hahot outsides officially begun and we are crazy busy again at Absolute Painting & Power Washing.  The days are longer and the weather is blazing hot!  People often ask me when I am giving them an estimate if we are able to paint when it is really hot outside.  My answer is yes in most cases.  Our crews have to work in all types of weather conditions each year and dealing with the heat is one of them.  Much of our exterior prep work can be done in most any weather condition besides pouring down rain.

Typically if we are painting your home on a really hot day we will do our best to work on the hot side of the first thing in the morning before it gets too hot out.  We then work our way around the home to the
shaded sides so the paint and out crews are not getting too hot.  Our crews are very good at knowing when they can paint and when it is best to hold off as they have many years of experience.

We do try to avoid doing some types of
work when the sun is too hot such as deck staining.  This is best to do early in the morning or late in the afternoon if temps are going to be over 90 degrees.  Front doors can be a challenge if they get painted when the sun is beating on them especially if they are going to be a dark color.  We always warn against painting front doors dark colors if they get hot sun on them to be safe anyways.

Although we would all prefer to work each day in 70 degree weather it just does not happen on a regular basis so we have to adapt and work outside when we can.  We always make sure the final results are a long lasting paint job that our customers will love!  Call us today for a free estimate or advice on painting your own home if that is the plan.  We are always happy to help homeowners any way we can.  Enjoy your summer!
