I was getting ready to head out on my vacation for 2015 and decided it would be a good time to get the interior of my home painted. I have painted many home in the past including my own but this time I decided to have our crews at Absolute Painting do the work for me. I even had Beth Hall our designer come help me pick my colors which was a huge help. I guess I thought this would be an easy undertaking but I forgot how much work goes into getting the home ready to be painted especially when you are getting ready for vacation at the same time.
I am sure it would have been much easier had I decided to paint only half of my home but I figured let’s just get it all done at once. I have lived in my home for 17 years so I have accumulated a lot of stuff and did not realize how much stuff had to be moved to paint. I even decided to have my closets painted so everything had to be moved. I had only one room in the home to store stuff plus my garage which I crammed full of stuff. Let me just say that if you can paint your home before you move in it is so much easier!
Here are some things that the homeowner needs to do to get ready to have the interior of their home painted. Remove all wall hangings and decide if you want to keep the nails in the same places to rehang pictures. Please take the time to remove all small items from work areas. Any valuables or breakable items should be removed from work areas so they do not get bumped and broken. Do your best to move furniture to the center of the room. This is a great time to clean under furniture that has not been moved for a long time. If you are getting closets painted please have them completely empty when the painted arrive.
Once the home is ready we can get your home painted fairly quickly depending on what you are having us do. My home is about average size and will take about 5 days to get painted from top to bottom. If you have any questions or need help with getting your home ready for painting please call us and we are happy to assist you.
