February is already here and it seems the worst weather is now behind us in the Portland area. Our crews have been extremely busy doing interior painting the past few months waiting for the weather to start warming up. Now is a great time of year to start getting ready for your exterior painting if you think it is time for that.
Why do you need to think about exterior painting in February while it is cold and wet out still? That is a great question and very logical thinking. We can only get so much exterior painting done each year due to our climate. Many years we can only paint outside from about April until October. This is a pretty short time frame to get all of this work done.
Really good painting contractors also get a ton of requests for bids when the sun comes out so if you call early you can get us out on short notice before everyone else starts calling. Many painters offer an early season discount if you call early for your bid also.
Calling your painting contractor early in the season gives you more time to get any repairs done to your home prior to having it painted which is often the case. Getting your home painted early in the season will allow you to enjoy the new look for the entire summer instead of waiting until October when you are inside most of the time.
