Changing out these components is relatively simple and can really bring a nice updated look to your home. The one question I always get asked is what about mixing metal finishes, is that okay? And my answer is a resounding yes!
There are so many metal finishes available in today’s market. If you have brass stay with warmer tones like oil rubbed bronze, antique nickel or one of my favorites is add a touch of wood. Restoration Hardware has just come out with their hardware and fixture edition and they have many wonderful options.
The industrial look is still strong so don’t be afraid to mix finishes and textures. Offset a clean, contemporary look with rustic wood or iron accents to elevate your look. The clear glass globe is also making its return, gone is the opaque glass now showing off the filament and highlighting the function of a piece is more popular than ever.
